How to conquer my fear of going underwater?

When I was younger I almost drown and have since then been afraid to go underwater. I love to be in the water and I love to swim but I'm scared to go under. Being in the water and being getting splashed in the face and all isn't scary for me or anything I'm just scared to go underwater; I greatly appreciate any help.
