What are some good books for a 11 year old girl?

Sarah Plain and Tall. It's a lovely book and I think an appropriate title. It's about a family on the plains during pioneer times. The mother dies and the father sends for a new wife. The family has to adjust to a new mom. There's a few different titles in that series.
