Ok, odd question for all of you fellow SEGA kids :D?

ok, there was this game i played when i was younger, i don't remember the name, but i distinctly remember him being a comic book artist, there was a flash of lightning and he was in his own comic book fighting these monsters that he made. i also remember that you could only have three items and when you died, there would be a giant red X drawn over you to remind you you're in the comic book. if you could help me, it'd be great :D
