Title/ Author of this book....?

It's a kids/ teen novel about an orphan girl (i think her name is maude) who is adopted by these three women who are con artists pretending to be mediums or something. It's set in a beach town in the Edwardian era and there's some side plot about a little girl who drowned (i think she was the con artists' client's daughter). Anybody know it?
