Should i become friends with my ex again?

i broke up with my ex a month ago. when we broke up she said she wanted us to stay as friends, for the last month we have both completely blanked each other and havent spoken because i said i need some time and space to get over her, now im over her i'd like to become friends with her but dont know how to go about doing it? and should i do it at all?
